Kootenai County Budget 2016

The Kootenai County Board of County Commissioners passed the largest budget in county history, which includes a three percent tax increase for property owners.  The increase from the previous years budget is almost 96.5 million.

While we are a rapidly growing county, we now have a bigger per capita budget than Ada County and  Canyon County.  Why is that?  Where is the money being spent?  Do our two (soon to be) County Commissioners know why the budget is so big?  Do they know if the county has cut back on anything in the budget?

Please consider praying for the County Commissioners.  The out-going and incoming commissioners need God's guidance to do what is right for the county.  Also, consider emailing them to ask them why the budget is so big.

Takeover by the Feds through the Tribes

Once again the federal government is trying to take away our water rights, property rights, energy rights, and the ability to control/manage our forests.   They want to give our rights to the Native American Tribes, local United Nations sustainability councils and environmental groups.

How is this being done?  Through the North American Energy Security and Infrastructure Act (S.1202 and H.R. 2647)  This seems to be another case of we will read it after it becomes law.  Idaho's own Representative Mike Simpson is a co-sponsor of this bill.  Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski and Washington Representative Cathy McMorris also sponsored this bill.

Please consider praying that God would show them the error of their ways.  Also, consider writing them to ask why they have sponsored this bill.  Ask them if they or their staff have read the bill.
